In 2019, Facebook underwent a brand refresh. With the new branding update, the Facebook for Business team began a redesign project that would create a more user-centric, simple and unified experience. This experience would empower, educate and inspire our business users.
Unify the System
The current website was a disparate maze of content that did not consider the journey of our user. We began by grounding our mission in putting our user first and creating a system that would allow all of our different types of business users to find the content that pertained to them.
Establish Vision
We created a north star concept that would be our guidepost as we started our design process.
Lay the foundation
We lay the groundwork with a new design system that translated the Facebook (at the time) company brand guide to fit within our web structure. We up-leveled the existing modular system the web system. This enabled teams across the eco-system to easily create pages of their own that would fit seamlessly into the core experience.
Improving the System
Through learnings from our partners and data, we continue to optimize the system, through adding animation and experience adjustments to the modules.
